During the summer Dan coaches a summer swim team. About halfway through the final meet they have a coaches' swim. They do a medley relay and Dan did butterfly for his team and they won! In the first picture Dan is uner the orange flag. Abby enjoyed watching and getting a little wet and playing with the kids. It was fun to have Grammy and Uncle Dave there too. It was very hot!!

Camping at the Beach
We enjoyed a weekend at Beachside where I used to camp as a child with my family. It is South of Waldport. We had fun but it was a little tricky keeping Abby occupied as she wasn't walking yet. Notice in the picture of her in her highchair she is holding a pine cone in one hand! Fortunately she enjoys being in the backpack. It was also very windy on the beach but at least it was sunny!
Swimming Lessons
We try to go swimming as a family once a week or so but we decided it would be fun if I did the "Parent-Tot" class with Abby. Dan was teaching swimming lessons already so we would get to be in the pool at the same time he was. Abby's teacher was Stephanie and she had a daughter the same age as Abby so she knew just what to do. It was a lot of fun and Dan even took Abby down the slide during free time on Friday!
Fourth of July 10K
My friend Cheryl and I decided to do a 10k in Stayton on the 4th of July. Her friend Shawn was also running and her friend Sarah was doing the 5k walk. The route we ran was a loop and we started to have people pass us before we were even halfway through! It was a little harder than I thought but we made it to the finish line! Dan and Abby and Dave and Mackenzie were there to cheer us on.
