Travel to London July 2016

Goodbye Beverly and new family.  We will always treasure our time spent with you.

Waiting for the train. We had to make sure we kept Owen away from the tracks as he was so excited for the train!
Another great train ride! We were going to bed late every night and getting up early most mornings so the kids were still pretty sleep deprived!

Dan enjoys taking pictures of the different train stations.  They are all so unique and quite beautiful.

King's Cross is in Harry Potter.
On our one year anniversary trip to Europe we had an Otis elevator at one of our motels that had a maximum occupancy of 2!  And with our backpacks we almost didn't fit! This Otis was a bit bigger. :)

Bridlington, England July 2016

Driving on the left side of the road with the driver seated on the right side of the car!
I think I counted 23 of us at the beach! Shaun and Clare came with Malita.  Kay's mom was also there. We had such a great time!  The beach was on the shores of the North Sea.

This is the former home of my great grandmother Phoebe Scott Midgley in Bridlington, England.

We didn't realize in the picture above that there was a sea gull right on the other side of the wall.

I am not sure why these pictures are sideways. I had fish and chips and "mushy peas" when we stopped for dinner.  They were kind of like mashed potatoes.  I thought they were really good! The picture below shows their different sauces with names different than we use in the states.

Hull, England July 2016

It was a short train ride from Beverly, England to Hull, England.
We found my Great Grandfather, Godfrey Scott Midgley, on this sign in the Hull train station honoring those who served in World War 1 and left from this station.

I believe it was Richard who was an extra in this movie and walked down these stairs.

This frog is like the moths from a few years ago.  At the time they had them scattered all through the town.  This is one they kept by the museum we went to.

This little park was outside the museum.  We were able to walk around the block to this little shop and get amazing sandwiches, "crisps" and drinks for lunch.

This was a garbage can by the picnic tables we ate on.

This train says "Gordon" on it!  Dad always shows up somehow!

More information about the moths.

We visited Holy Trinity Church in Hull.  It was spectacular!

English mailboxes! This one happened to be out of order but we saw other ones. They were doing construction and improvements all over the city as Hull was selected as the UK City of Culture for 2017.
