Beach Trip and Visit from Uncle Gary and Aunt Mary

We spent 4 days at Sea Krest Lodge in Newport. My mom is able to rent it through First Baptist Church. The first day we got there we went for a post-sunset walk on the beach. My mom took this picture of Dan, Abby and me. Too bad Abby's head wasn't just a little higher. :)

Dan made several awesome fires. Nice job babe! We roasted marshmallows and made smore's. Dan of course added peanut butter and I must admit it was very good!

We got to play on the beach a bit. Abby has gotten over her fear of being dirty and she enjoyed digging and playing in the sand.

My Uncle Gary and Aunt Mary came from California to enjoy the beach with us.

Uncle Gary is my Dad's brother. Abby absolutely adored him!!

Our family friend Marsha came along as well. She played the piano for us. Abby might have the musical gene in her after all!!

Abby and Uncle Gary also played the piano for a bit. Abby played with her feet while he played with his hands. :)

Abby's Big Girl Room

I decided to paint Abby's big girl room at Christmas Break. Abby helped me tape and she loved climbing the step ladder.
Plain white walls... not for long!!

The Adelmans gave us a dresser so Dan and his brother stripped the paint off of it.

Dave Davis helped patch some cracking sheet rock and he also did the chair railing again like he did in Abby's other room. Thank you Dave!! Cheryl and Mackenzie got to play for a while.

Abby started sleeping in her big girl bed the first week of July. It was a lot easier than I had anticipated. Now if we can just get her potty trained.... :)

This summer we finally got around to putting up the shelves and other decorations. Nice job Dan!!

Lisa, Allie and Jack! (and baby boy on the way)

My friend Lisa and I met up for a quick playdate at McDonalds. She has Allie who turned 5 in March and Jack who will be 2 in October. They are expecting another little boy in early September. We hadn't seen each other for a while so it was fun to catch up even if it was just for a couple of hours.

Swimming Lessons - Level 1

I felt like we were done with parent tot but I wasn't sure Abby was ready for Level 1 but she did great! She was relaxing on her back by the end of the week.
