August Highlights including our Epic Road Trip 2014!

Owen's turn for a haircut!

 Happy Birthday Uncle Tom!

Our Epic Adventure begins in Bend for a swim meet.  Go Abby!  Nice coaching Daddy! Dave was visiting friends in Bend and then would meet up with us later in California.

Second stop: Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.  We spent a full day driving through the park.  It was quick but we fit in a lot!  The first picture is the first time Dan saw Old Faithful blow and the second picture is when we all saw Old Faithful blow.  :)  The timing can be a little tricky.

We saw lots of buffalo much to the kids' delight! :)

Third stop: Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. We saw it after dark and in the day time.

Fourth stop: My Aunt Barbara and Uncle Don and cousins in Kansas.  Julie and Travis have Ellie and Arik and then Jennifer and Kenny have Sam and Ty.  My cousins are twins and both teachers.  It was a lot of fun to hang out with them!

Dan got to go to breakfast with his friend Doug in Colorado.  He gave Abby a quarter for doing 100 pushups.  She thought it was a great deal! Doug is also a swim coach.
We mailed some postcards to the girls' friends Mackenzie and Brooklyn.  This was at the post office in Vail, Colorado.  Grandpa Gordon would be proud!

Fifth stop: Disneyland!!  We enjoyed a long day in the Magic Kingdom!  We saw princesses and characters.  Dave, Dan, Abby and I went on all of the rollercoasters and I paid for it with a little vomit at the end of the night.  :(  Abby loved every minute of them though.  The littles enjoyed Dumbo and the tea cups.  Thanks Dave for our new friends! A very fun day!!

Sixth stop: Shon and Lena Page the day before their wedding in Torrance, California. Shon swam at West Salem high school a while back. This was a little park we found by the water.
Seventh stop: My cousin Scotty and family in Springville, California.  We enjoyed an evening together and an afternoon in the pool.  Wyatt is in kindergarten and they are expecting Harper in late December.  Marie is a high school teacher (We have a lot of teachers in our family!).

Eighth stop: San Leandro/Oakland, California to see my Uncle Gary and Aunt Mary.  My Uncle Byron and Aunt Kathryn surprised us and were visiting from New York!  It was fun to see my Dad's brothers (and sister in Kansas) interact with my kids who were born after he passed away. We also got to have brunch at my cousin Christy and Diane's house.  A great time was had!!

Family brunch enjoyed by all!

Ninth stop: San Francisco Zoo.  Well kind of .  We got there as they were closing! :(  We had promised the kids they would see giraffes and we were able to see some from the courtyard area without actually entering the zoo. :) Then we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Tenth stop: Lisa and Jeff's house in Rogue River, Oregon.  Lisa was my roommate in college.  The girls jumped on the trampoline with Brynn.  Alex wasn't home but he is in high school.

We got to hang out at the Oregon State Fair one evening.  We got to see lots of animals.  Abby shocked me and went on the big swings!  These girls are fearless!
