Morning Star Church Picnic

The Sunday of our church picnic was hot and sunny. It started with a pancake breakfast!

My mom came as some of her former students were being baptized.

If you look closely you can see Dan and Abby to the left of the tree. :) We don't have an indoor place to do baptisms so they do it during the church picnic each year. Dan was baptized at one of the picnics 7 years or so ago.

Abby got to play with her friend Nora.

We were so excited that Abby got to ride on her first normal sized horse!! The wait was long but definitely worth it. :)

West Salem Titan's Football Game

We went to our first football game of the season with Mackenzie, Cheryl and Brooklyn! Dave was at a conference for the weekend.

Go Titans!!

My friend Emily's daughter Grace got to hang out with Mack and Abby.

They liked watching the cheerleaders. :)

Deborah's Birthday continued...

On my actual birthday we went to Red Robin for dinner. Abby and Dan got me a card that they could record a message on. Too cute!
Abby is a good present opener.

Yay! The Evans Family. :)

Abby likes it when they sing to you. She doesn't mind the ice cream either. :)

One of the gifts I opened had bubble wrap. At my brother's store she jumps on bubble wrap and hears the popping sound. She started jumping on it right in Red Robin!! Silly girl.

At home we couldn't let the extra reeces pieces go to waste so we decorated another chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and put on the candies.

It looks like I am spitting but I am just blowing out the candles. :)

Dig in! Plates are overrated. :)

Uncle Dave's Birthday and Deborah's Birthday

Dave's bday is September 6th and mine is September 8th.

We had BBQ'd salmon, rice and zuchinni at my mom's house. Yummy!!

My mom makes a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and then she puts m&ms on my brother's half and reeces pieces on my half. So so good!!! Abby helped us blow out the candles.

Uncle Dave got Abby a present too. :)

She called Macey right away!

Abby and Uncle Tom were talking through the swing set. :)

Grammy and Dan were there too, just not pictured.

Oregon State Fair

This year Abby was old enough to go on some of the rides! We started with the canoes and she liked it. It was nice because we could go all the way around the river with her. :)

Next was the slide and Dan got to do this with her. I think she liked it.

We took a break from the rides to go see the animals. First we saw the baby chicks. There were geese and ducklings in there too.

We were so excited to see the ponies as we have been wanting Abby to get to ride one. She rode Rockstar who is an oversized minature. :)

Then we saw a large horse and Dan let Abby feed him some hay.
When we went into the arena to watch the horses we saw Dan's mom and his uncle. We will pretend the pom pom is green and yellow. :)

The piglets looked big to me this year.
Abby's first ice cream cone all her own. Daddy had to help her keep it from dripping. I don't think he minded. It was from the Big Red Barn. I look forward to an ice cream cone from there all year long!

We did a few more rides before heading home.

I think she had a great time!!

Beach Trip and Visit from Uncle Gary and Aunt Mary

We spent 4 days at Sea Krest Lodge in Newport. My mom is able to rent it through First Baptist Church. The first day we got there we went for a post-sunset walk on the beach. My mom took this picture of Dan, Abby and me. Too bad Abby's head wasn't just a little higher. :)

Me and my Mommy!

Dan made several awesome fires. Nice job babe! We roasted marshmallows and made smore's. Dan of course added peanut butter and I must admit it was very good!

We got to play on the beach a bit. Abby has gotten over her fear of being dirty and she enjoyed digging and playing in the sand.

My Uncle Gary and Aunt Mary came from California to enjoy the beach with us.

Uncle Gary is my Dad's brother. Abby absolutely adored him!!

Our family friend Marsha came along as well. She played the piano for us. Abby might have the musical gene in her after all!!

Abby and Uncle Gary also played the piano for a bit. Abby played with her feet while he played with his hands. :)

A little fooseball...

Helping with the BBQ.

Grammy got some pool lessons from Uncle Dave.

Uncle Gary had some competition once Uncle Dave arrived. :)

The weather was beautiful but windy.

Abby and Grammy. Matching shirts!!

Gary and Mary came on the train so we went to see them off.

Abby was a little upset that they were leaving but she finally would give Uncle Gary a pinkie handshake. :)

Here comes the train!!

Waving hello to the train.

Bye Uncle Gary and Aunt Mary! Have a safe trip home.

Bye Bye train.
