Day Trip to Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness July 2016

We did a day trip through the highlands and to Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness on a tour bus.
We passed the Kelpies which are two 30 meter high horse-head sculptures that are a monument to horse powered heritage across Scotland.  I was only able to get a good picture of one of them.
I believe this is a view of either Duart Castle or Eilean Donan Castle from one of the James Bond movies.
We stopped in Kilmahog for "morning coffee".  :)

We passed through the Great Glen.  Glen means valley we learned.

It was fun to see this bagpiper in the middle of these great glens!

We stopped in Fort William for lunch which is "in the shadows" of Ben Nevis which is Britain's highest mountain. This sign said "Commando Exhibition" and Owen had been going "commando" at home to help with potty training. I thought it was funny and wanted him to get a picture with it.

We had time to explore Urquhart Castle before we took a boat ride on the Loch Ness.
The scenery and views were quite amazing!

The boat ride was a lot of fun and very relaxing.  The weather was perfect!
We didn't see Nessie though... :)

Gram and Owen were all tuckered out on the way home.
